At Golazo Energy, we believe that healthy employees are the driving force behind every successful organisation. That’s why we partner with companies to turn workplace wellbeing into a tangible, accessible, and impactful reality. Not through one-off initiatives, but through structured programs that inspire people to move and to connect.
Mediafin, publisher of De Tijd and L’Echo, embraced this vision in 2025 with a remarkable wellbeing initiative. In collaboration with Golazo Energy, 15 employees took on the challenge of training for the 42 km AG Belgian Coast Walk. What began as a simple walking goal soon evolved into something greater: a shared journey of motivation, guidance, and inspiration. It became a powerful story of collaboration, resilience, and collective pride, proving that when people move together, they grow stronger together.
Mediafin employs around 300 people and is headquartered in Brussels. In the world of financial journalism, tight deadlines, complex dossiers, and constant alertness are not advantages, they are requirements. But such relentless pressure inevitably carries risks: mental fatigue, physical strain, and a weakening sense of connection with both the work and colleagues.
Fortunately, Mediafin looks beyond tomorrow’s deadlines. With the wellbeing program ‘Mediafin Moves’, they set out to make movement and mental wellbeing both tangible and accessible. Not through empty promises, but through real, lived experiences.
In a high-pressure work environment, wellbeing is often the first thing to fade into the background. Mediafin wanted to change that with an initiative designed to truly get people moving, both physically and mentally.
This is how the ambassador program ‘Mediafin Moves’ came to life. By 2025, it had already reached its third edition: after the 20 km of Brussels in 2023 and the OpenLakes Triathlon in 2024, the focus shifted to a new challenge: the 42 km AG Belgian Coast Walk. A distance that initially felt out of reach for many, but with the right guidance and support, proved to be an achievable and rewarding goal.
What set this program apart? It wasn’t aimed at athletes or seasoned sport enthusiasts. Mediafin deliberately focused on colleagues who didn’t consider themselves sporty, because they had the most to gain from a positive nudge forward.
With Golazo Energy’s guidance, participants received:
Preparation kicked off in late 2024 with an internal wellbeing survey at Mediafin. The insights collected provided the foundation for the ambassador program.
After an inspiring keynote and a clear program introduction, employees were invited to apply. From the many submissions, a diverse group of 15 ambassadors was selected.
In the months that followed, participants benefited from intensive support from their Golazo Energy coach. The program combined group sessions, individual check-ins, and enough flexibility to fit into busy workdays and family lives.
Mediafin and Golazo Energy collaborated closely throughout. HR, internal communications, and Golazo Energy’s wellbeing experts and coaches met regularly, exchanged feedback, and made adjustments whenever needed.
The impact of the program was measured not only in kilometers walked but also through tangible outcomes and personal stories from participants:
Yet the stories shared by participants are what truly stand out. Many described renewed energy, a stronger sense of connection with colleagues, and a new perspective on their own wellbeing. For some, the walking challenge sparked broader changes in daily habits and health.
The program also sparked a wider impact within the organisation. The ambassadors emerged as role models, inspiring their colleagues, and their stories motivated over 60 additional employees to take on the AG Belgian Coast Walk.
What started as a simple sporting goal quickly became much more. On the day of the AG Belgian Coast Walk, the atmosphere was filled with connection, pride, and gratitude. Crossing the finish line was an emotional moment, not just because of the physical effort, but because of the shared achievement.
For Mediafin, the ambassador program was proof that wellbeing can truly be embedded in company culture. For Golazo Energy, it confirmed what we’ve long known: when people feel heard, supported, and challenged, it sparks lasting momentum, building energy, connection, and inspiration that lasts far beyond the finish line.
Workplace wellbeing isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a smart, human-focused investment. At Golazo Energy, we help you turn that investment into real results, with programs designed to fit your team and your goals. Your organisation could be next.
